Foot Prints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

My thought today is that the Lord is carrying you. And, if you are in His arms, don’t fight it, stop moving and relax. He loves you, but we spend more time trying to see where we are going, instead of just letting the Lord have His way with us. Trust that when He puts us down, we will be in a better place than we were when He picked us up.

It is Well With My Soul

Philippians 4:12
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

I was having a conversation about life and the things that we go through, and I thought about how God keeps us on our feet. We have to be able to be cool with and cool without. In order to deal with both extremes, you need to have with you (when you have and when you don’t have) PEACE.

We pray for things, but I tell you in this season of life, when you pray for something from God, stop and ask for peace for whatever answer He gives you. The thing about peace is, having it will make you look crazy to other people that know what you have going on, because they know what is going on around you, but you know what you have in you.

So, my prayer for you this weekend is that whatever it is that is on your mind, find peace in it. And, when Monday gets here, you won’t even remember whatever had you stressed out today.

The LORD is my light and my salvation

Psalm 27:1-4
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

It seems like everything that could go wrong or come against you has. If it’s not physical it’s emotional, and it seems like the people that you thought would have your back are stabbing you in it. Yet, what I have learned from these verses is that before we think about anything else or worry about anything else, we need to remember that the Lord is our light and salvation. Whom shall we fear? Which means, I can’t worry about you, because I got my saving grace with me. I can’t worry about what problems I may have going on, because I still have the Lord. We will have problems and issues, but God already has plans for them too, He won’t let them get over on you. He will let them come close enough to you so you know they are there. Sometimes we don’t learn until we burn from the heat on the stove.

Even I have said today, when it rains, it pours. Yet, God told me, "I use the rain to water your blessings, so when the skies clear, you will be able to see what it was all for."

God knows what he is doing.

Living in Life's Waiting Room

Psalm 27:13 (King James Version)
"I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."

When it rains, it pours. I have realized in the last couple of weeks that we all are going through hard times and the only way we can keep going is to “believe to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living”. For, with everything going on, it seems as if we have more month than money, more questions than answers, more problems than solutions. Yet, there is one fact that can’t be changed..... God is still good.

There is power in your waiting on the Lord. I believe that we are in life's waiting room. The thing about being in the waiting room, you can’t see what’s going on in the operating room, but you have to trust the doctor that’s on duty to fix whatever the problem is.

Don’t just wait, be of good courage. Stop crying. It should be something in you that says, " I don’t have to look like what I am going through."

It’s on the days I don’t have a penny that I put on my GOOD stuff, because I am broke, but you can’t tell it by looking at me. God will strengthen your heart. He will give you what you need to make your waiting as comfortable as possible. That’s why in the waiting room they have on the TV, magazines, water and coffee because they know you are stressed, so they want to give you all that you need. But, if you need something that may not be in the room, come ask the front desk (your pastor) "how is it going?", and he will let you know that Dr. Jesus is on it and everything is looking good.

Bend Your Knees

Bend Your Knees

It was about 2am when I started thinking about the Daily Love today, and I asked God to give me something that was for His people. He told me that those of us that are struggling with things and carrying stuff, we are packing it the wrong way. We are walking around with heavy stuff on our chest and we don’t know why we are hurting. It’s because you can’t carry heavy weight on your chest unless you bend your knees.

It’s power in you that can only come out when you bend your knees. But not only bend your knees when you are packing heavy stuff, but you bend your knees when you are picking it up. It’s dangerous for you to let someone hand you their stuff without knowing if it’s to heavy for you. Sometimes we have to tell people, "I really wish I could help you, but what you are packing, I can’t carry."

So, just remember to keep from letting things weigh you down, bend your knees, PRAY ABOUT IT. Before you get upset and try to throw in the towel, bend your knees.

The best part about it is, if you can’t get it with your knees bent, then that’s the best sign to show you to LEAVE IT THERE. WE need to learn to have peace about things and be able to let some stuff go. We are packing some of other people things that even they have let go of.

So, I leave you with the words to this song, and I hope that it helps you through your day:

Makes no difference what the problem,
(I can go to God in prayer).
Yes, I have this blessed assurance,
(I can go to God in prayer).
He will take my gloom and sorrow,
(turn them into light).
He will comfort, strengthen and keep me,
(I can go to God in prayer)

Take it to God.

DAILY LOVE FROM HIM ABOVE

1 Corinthians 13:13 (The Message)
But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.

I have been praying about this scripture all week, and I didn’t know what God had in mind. Yet, it seems like the devil is coming to take everything that he want’s from you, but you should have some stuff that nobody can take, no matter who they are. When the Bible says "But for right now, until that completeness," that means after everything else was gone, the only thing left was trust in God, hope and love.

Your list might be longer, but no matter what is in your life, make sure they don’t take those three things. Your trust in God is about you and God. Never let anyone take God from you.

Your hope is a strong one, because hope will make it better before it gets better. Just to explain what hope is, hope is like a gambler that is losing and keeps playing, thinking things will turn around for them. That’s hope. And, if you have that kind of hope in cards, up that kind of hope in your God. Hope that says, "I know I am losing now, but when I get up from this table, called life, I know I will be winning."

Lastly, NEVER let any thing or anybody take your love. Because, when everything else in you tells you that you are crazy, love makes it all make sense. Love will make you do stuff for people you can’t stand, but you love them. Love will also take you places that you had no business being in the first place. Love will open your eyes to a whole new world. Never lose your love. It carries with it the worst pain, but also the best joys.

"For GOD so LOVED the world, that he gave..."

DAILY LOVE FROM HIM ABOVE

You are only a though away from a good day.

We seem to let people and events easily mess up our day. However, I want to raise this argument; you are only one thought away from a good day. How do I know that? When people come into your life and mess up what you have going on, you can't let them win. They might mess up what's on the outside, but on the inside, you know that no one is living for you.

So, if I want to have a good day, then that's exactly what I am going to do. No matter what happens.

The hymn says, "Think of His Goodness." So, when you feel like you don't know what to do and you keep thinking about how wrong things are, then you should think of His goodness. That should brighten up your day and make life all the better. Because, if you are alive to have a bad day, then you are better than someone that didn't wake up to have this day.

Thank God for the things that we think we deserve.
