Are You Fighting Him or Are You Flirting With Him?

Sometimes there is not much difference between a fight and a flirt. As I have gotten older, I now realize that I've come to a point where I only fight for things worth fighting for. Yet, sometimes when we fight with the devil, we are not actually fighting him. We are flirting with him. We pick fights with the devil sometimes just to show him that we're still there. We don't ask God to heal us from sin, we just ask to be covered while we do whatever we want to do.

Today, I want to challenge you not to flirt with the devil, but fight him. You have to realize that when flirting with the devil, you'll always lose. He always has a different agenda. It might not seem like such a big deal to commit some sins, but you can't do what you want and live any way you want and classify yourself as a Christian.

Often others can tell what side you are on by the words out of your mouth and not your actions. We can't say that we're saved, sanctified and souled out for the Savior, and everything we do shows a different person that no one knows about.

So, we can't flirt with the devil. We can't cast out cancer and walk around smelling like cigarette smoke. We can't flirt with him and fight him at the same time. We can't cast out a devil we just crawled out of bed with.

Give God the Glory

John 11:40
Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”

We spend so much time looking and thinking about ourselves, but I would like to step out on a limb and say that what you are going through isn't about you, it's so God can get the glory. The trouble you are facing isn't about you, it's for the people around you to see that God is still good. The question I want to leave with you this weekend is, "Would I want to serve a God like yours if I watched the way you deal with life's issues?"

However, when you walk in victory, even when you look like you are being defeated, people will see that you don't serve God for things, but for who He is.\

Everything is a lesson. Learn from it so you don’t’ have to retake it.

I think we spend so much time living and we never learn. I honestly believe that if we take the time to sit down and look at what we have been through we would learn some things. Even though we might not understand why we had to go through what we did. Even if you fail the test, you still learned what you didn’t know.

Why do we do that in school and don’t do it in life? We go day to day and just live and let stuff happen to us. Why are we REACTIVE and not PROACTIVE? We wait until we feel the flames before we get out of the fire.

Today think about where you are in your life and where you want to be in God. Ask him to not only let you get there, but ash him to show you how can should you get there.

Adopt this motto. “Live on purpose”. Don’t just live, but live with a purpose in mind. When you feel like life is beating you up, in between your dream and your palace, remember where you are is not where you are going. I don’t mind being here, because I am coming out of here. So, don’t let where you are determine where you are going, but let it determine where you won't go back to.

Walk with me Lord

Mark 10:52

“On your way,” said Jesus. “Your faith has saved and healed you.” In that very instant he recovered his sight and followed Jesus down the road.

I read this Scripture this morning and it spoke to me in a new way that I have never seen before. When he told the man that was blind to go his way, he followed Jesus down the road. Being saved to me doesn’t mean that you don’t have a choice, it means that you can choose to go with Jesus or go your own way. But for those of us that have made the choice to follow Jesus, today is your day to be reminded that you are not on this road alone.

So, when it feels like you have falling by the wayside, remember that he is walking with you and will pick you up and put you on the path. Yet, if you choose to walk by yourself and fall, who will be there for you?

Thank God I am walking with Jesus.

Lamentations 3:22-23


Have you ever just sat down and thought about some of the things that you have been through? I am not talking about over your life span , I am talking about just this year. It seems like the everyone is fighting to keep going, but then you look back and it has been a year of struggle and daily love, messages, God, walking, Preaching, better, Bible study, Church, fighting, happy, Houston, jesus, Joy for the journey- A. Louse Patterson keep going dreams, Learning, Lession, love, School., SHouting, song, Teaching, today, together, strife. It’s some thing about the fact that you are still here and, not only are you still here, but the stuff you came into 2010 worried about, you hadn’t thought about in awhile. And, now you think about i,t you can see that God has kept you.
So, stop looking at what's in the front of you like it’s going to kill you, because it’s not. It’s just something that you will be able to look back at and see God in.
So, today don’t worry about today, praise Him for tomorrow.When you woke up this morning you got some new mercies and when you wake up tomorrow, you got some more new mercies! I used to wonder why did I need new mercies every morning, but when I thought about it, it has to be new because I have new problems everyday, so with my new problems, I have new mercies. So, I praise him not because of the problems, but because when I woke up my new mercies met me.
